Rescue Dogs for Wildlife

About Us

Volunteer in Africa

We believe that all animals are special and deserve to be free from suffering. Teamwork is the foundation of everything we do at RDFW. We realised in our wildlife conservation career that the need for dogs is essential to protecting wildlife, flora and fauna. The impact that dogs have within this effort is huge, they truly are unsung heroes .Our dogs are not just essential for protection but are also willing to be called to action should someone be lost or injured in the bush as well as tracking injured animals in need of veterinary assistance. Zimbabwe's rescue kennels are full to crises point with dogs that have been given up on, neglected or abandoned. The dogs we choose from the kennels fit a specific criteria and go on to do amazing things in a job they love. As predatory animals there is nothing more enjoyable of natural for them then tracking and running and having lots of love and cuddles at the end of the day. Not only does our work support the kennels that take these poor pups in but they support us by ensuring the dogs are well assessed, socialized and equipped to join our happy pack.

RDFW is where many sad stories have happy endings. Lost souls with an uncertain future get a new lease of life helping to protect others in dire need of there assistance.

At Rescue Dogs for Wildlife we do not believe in breeding dogs for working when there are so many dogs in need just waiting to bring there amazing skill set to our team and help us get noses on the ground.

Disclaimer:

I would like to say that this is not the side of conservation and anti-poaching that our volunteers would participate in due to the risks and unpredictable nature of the environment. That being said there is still a huge amount that goes on behind the scenes that is equally as involved, fun and important that we need your assistance in, and lets not forget the opportunity to explore to meet and care for many other animals as well as going a few rounds of catch me if you can with our happy and friendly canine team. Take a look at our Volunteer in Victoria falls page to see the many more things our project has to offer.
